I have to write a paper on an area museum that evaluates it on every level. I go to so many museums on such a regular basis, so I want to do something different, not your usual LACMA, MOCA, Getty, Norton Simon, Huntington. Something along the lines of non-traditional art exhibitions, either at non-art museums, or non-traditional media at traditional art spaces. I’m thinking either:
1) The Museum of Jurassic Technology, exhibition-as-museum
2) Santa Monica Museum of Art, Pat O’Neill’s (mostly filmic) Views from Lookout Mountain
3) Body Worlds at the California Science Center (in Wired magazine here)
4) George Nakashima at the Japanese American National Museum
Any input? Any other ideas?
