Blog Conference on Family and Academia

October 5th, 2004 · No Comments · Writing

Laura over at Apt. 11D is hosting a week-long blog conference on the work/family dilemma. Today, she’s focusing on family and academia, and she’s getting a whole host of fascinating comments on the difficulties particular to the academic community, ranging from timing children to best line up with tenure aspirations to the wandering gypsy effect of the academic job search as it relates to child-care and the resulting isolation from extended families. If you’re interested, I’d recommend reading all today’s posts and their comments.
