Yesterday we had a meeting about participating in, and perhaps even curating, a potential video/installation show in June. Looks like we’ll sign on if we can confirm the space we toured: converted industrial warehouse, 30 foot ceilings, I-beam rafters, concrete floors, great lighting situation. This should move pretty fast, within the next week or so, not much time between now and June if we’re doing an open-call.
After our meeting, Murray and I had a great brainstorm about a new work for the show, using a huge cast and working well with the high ceiling. Of course, brainstorms are top-secret until they begin to solidify into an actual plan with legs. Got to protect the free play of ideas, got to stay loose and fresh and uninhibited until it’s time to get down to business with some sort of schematic for an real live project. But it’s fun to be in the popcorn brainstorm stage. More on the show as things develop.
