This 70’s sci-fi classic, Death Race 2000, with its red blood and black humor, casts quintessential–sly–David Carradine with an early Sylvester Stallone trying on a role that would soon solidify. Easily worth the “hand grenade” and other B-movie production thrills alone. Another high is the meaningfully succinct credits. More than a movie, DR2000 is a key to understanding a different time: a time when an R rating was a license.
murray, you are awesome.
