Original Version
Restored Version
I’ve been managing our portfolio digitally for about 8 years. This has many advantages, however, I just found a problem: when I was first archiving images, I didn’t really know what I was doing. This has been compounded by never checking older images until now. Familiarity is the enemy. Old images seem right because of nostalgia.
Yesterday I was going through files when I came across a project that suffered from this. The Orange Bridge was one of the first projects handled digitally and I, er, had been too liberal with the contrast and color levels. Amplified documentation lacks authenticity.

I should note that the new version is archived from the original slide scan. So glad I kept the original scans: no matter what the movies say, it’s impossible to construct a better image from a poor image.
