John Watson and Andrea Green’s installation show at the Laumeier Sculpture Park in St Louis is an exhibition worth traveling to see. Watson’s gregarious sculptures are placed with wit — hidden in ceiling beams and seeming to go through walls — which steers the work’s translation towards architectural allegories.

Green uses saliva, breath, wax, and a large amount of petroleum jelly, which is all the rage now, to make ephemeral wall and floor-mounted sculptures.

Watson and Green come from opposite ends of the map, creating an entertaining romp between two opposing sensibilities — an excellent curatorial strategy. This is the weekend to see it, as their dual takes 20 steps and pulls the trigger on Sunday.
