We’re in Tucson, Arizona, in route to Dallas today (if we’re lucky).

We’ve got the truck packed, and are off to St. Louis.

I finished building the crates for our wood models. All that’s needed is foam inside and perhaps a paint job. How important is it to paint an art crate? On one hand, they protect art–they are not art–on the other, I’ve put a lot of time into them (routed edges and custom clamps) and I’m not sure they aren’t art.

For the next couple days, I’m making crates for our models. It’s so relaxing to make crates: it has just the right amount of creativity, function and freedom.
